The poet Ka'b bin Zuhair bin Abi Salma belonged to a family that was rich in poets. His father Zuhair was a poet, his uncle Bashamah bin Al-Ghadir was a poet, his sister Salma was a poet, and so was his sister Al-Khansa. Both of his sons were poets, to the point that Ibn Qutaybah said about the Zuhair family: "Poetry has not been connected to any of the sons of any of the great poets in the pre-Islamic era as much as it was to the sons of Zuhair, and in Islam as much as it was to the sons of Jarir." Narrators have unanimously agreed that Ka'b was one of the great poets, at the forefront of his class. They describe his poetry as having strong coherence, rich words, and sublime meaning. In this book, Dr. Muhammad Yusuf Najm reviews the life of the poet Ka'b bin Zuhair before Islam and his conversion to Islam, his personal affairs, his family life, and the poems of the collection in alphabetical order, starting from the rhyme of the letter Alif to the rhyme of the letter Ya, distributed among the meters of Arabic poetry and the occasion of reciting each poem. With an explanation of the words and meanings, the book concludes with an index of the openings of the poems, which amount to thirty-three poems.
