The author began with an introduction that included chapters on the virtues and miracles of our Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace. He then followed it with chapters on knowledge and related matters. After the introduction, he began with purification and related matters, and concluded his book with a book on the virtues of the Qur’an. The book contains 3530 hadiths. This is a new, collated, corrected, and numbered edition, with hadith chains of transmission and repetitions, and hadiths with their rulings, along with explanations of strange hadiths and useful comments. It begins with a scholarly introduction and ends with general indexes. It has been published as part of the Hadith Encyclopedia. “Al-Darimi’s book should be considered the sixth of the five books, instead of Ibn Majah’s, as it contains few weak narrators and rare rejected and irregular hadiths. Even if it contains mursal and mawquf hadiths, it is still more deserving of being compared to Ibn Majah’s book.” (Al-Hafiz Al-Ala’i, may God have mercy on him) “It is not lower in rank than Sunan, but if it were included with the five, it would be more deserving than Ibn Majah, for he is much better than it” (Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani), may God have mercy on him.
