Summary of the novel (Gypsy Woman)

This novel tells the story of a disabled Iraqi Christian girl whose mother died during childbirth. She lived with a doctor father who hired a colleague to raise his only daughter. However, this woman was also taken away by death, leaving the girl to live with her father, whom she mysteriously lost during the invasion of Kuwait. She left for Baghdad during a time of famine and comprehensive siege, and lived there between two intimate Christian couples until they died, leaving “Asmaa,” who had lost her three mothers one after the other, alone, fighting the hell of the bloody violence rampant in her Iraqi homeland until she left it for other homelands, as if she were a gypsy woman tormented by wandering as she climbed the towering walls of those homelands with one arm.
It is the story of an Arab girl who is ravaged by the horrors of the world around her, yet she creates life with unique feminine ability as she moves between several homelands like a trembling bird searching for a nest that might shelter her in a forest whose leaves have fallen in an autumn that weeps over its emaciation.
This narrative may announce the “death of the novelist,” but only the reader can determine this as he follows the aesthetics of the narrative within it.
