This book encompasses the poet Abu Tammam's experience in the world of poetry, a rich experience in which Abu Tammam restored the brilliance of classical Arabic poetry after it had lost the authenticity that pre-Islamic poetry was characterized by, and added to it the elegance of modern poetry of that time. His poetry collection reflects his Abbasid culture with its Arab-Islamic roots, as he was able to immortalize the victories that were taking place at that time, so that the events appear as a victory ululation, alive and full of movement that he excelled in depicting. He praises those heroes who were fighting those battles on the borders of the Islamic state with the Persians and the Romans, and he does not hesitate to denounce one of the commanders who fled the battle, leaving his army to meet defeat.
Therefore, living history can depend on what he revived in those poems, because he is considered a historian of one of the most important stages in the life of the Islamic nation, which means that he had extensive knowledge of Arab life from the pre-Islamic era until his time, and he is truly a teacher of all the poets who came after him without exception.

Given the importance of taking care of the collections of Arab poets to enrich the Arab library and facilitate research for the Arab reader, this book was prepared by Dr. Mohi El-Din Sobhi, in which he collected the poetry of our poet scattered here and there and worked on verifying and explaining it so that the benefit would spread.
