Mohammed Abdu Artist Group

For the first time in my life, I heard our great artist Mohammed Abdu - in another version, “Abu Abdul Rahman,” in a third version, “Abu Noura,” and in a fourth version, “The Artist of the Arabs” - the first time I heard him, I was in the first grade of primary school in the enlightened city. The song, I think, was “I didn’t realize that the burqas were tempting me.” The broadcast was on black and white television, of course, and the song was accompanied by veiled girls. I heard the lyrics, but I didn’t like the singer, the words, or the veiled girls at the time. So, I decided to write a book in admiration of the great artist Talal Maddah - may God have mercy on him - and to detract from the artist Mohammed Abdu - may God protect him. I decided to call the book by this title: “The Original Artist Talal Maddah and the Traditional Artist Mohammed Abdu.” And indeed, I began writing my thoughts in a notebook “Abu 100 Papers,” and I put a large picture of Talal Maddah at the front, and a small picture of Mohammed Abdu underneath it.
