This can be considered the first Lebanese novel about the August 4, 2020 explosion. The main events take place an hour before the horrific blast, but the lives of some of the characters may be much younger. In a novel that employs a masterful use of time, we read two interwoven stories, featuring many characters, and a few: the married couple and the oppressed, Misha, the wife whose life and regime are defined, and Abbas, who calls himself Hind and proclaims himself a woman. During the events of October 17, 2019, in Lebanon, Misha and Hind interact, and their friendship is one they hope everyone will reciprocate. But it also provides a space for hope. Then, suddenly, something happens, and what had barely begun ends.
