The Abyss

The Lebanese Civil War is over on the ground, but it still rages on in young Suhail's mind. There, events, scenes, and time blur together, and wonderful things exist in stark contrast: the complex interplay of love and hate towards his older brother; his constant suspicion of a wife who cares for him but whom he feels is waiting for his death; an old flame whose name he may have forgotten, but whose ghost haunts him, and he tries to find her, but she's nowhere to be found. He suffers from agonizing migraines and throbbing palpitations. Where can he escape? His only dream now is to regret selling the shirt! There, the voices will surely fade away, and he will sleep in peace. The Lebanese Civil War may have officially ended on the ground, but it still burns brightly in young Suhail's mind. In his thoughts, events, scenes, and timelines overlap, and every emotion seems to carry its opposite: love and hate towards his older brother, constant suspicion of his caring wife, whom he suspects is secretly waiting for his death, and an old lover whose name he may have forgotten, but whose ghost still looms on the horizon, an elusive figure in his relentless search.
His headache is excruciating, and the ringing in his ears is deafening. Where can he find refuge? His only desire now is to retreat to a simple hut! He hopes that the noises will subside there, and he will find some rest and peace.
