xتتفرّد دار هاشيت أنطوان، تحت دمغة نوفل، شاهق أعمال ميخائيل نعيمه، وهو أحد أبرز الأدباء العرب المعاصرين وأدباء المهجر اللبنانيين. كتاباته المتميزة بمحاولات تنقية الأدب العربي من الزينة والكلام الزائد، والاقتراب من تصوير الأشياء والأحداث الواقعية. وقد ان طبعه بالبساطة والوضوح والصراحة، وببعده عن التعبيرة، لا سيما في الوصف أو السرد أو التصوير، كما تبدو ألفاظه أقرب إلى اللهجة العاميّة أحيانًا، ما يزيد القرّاء، من كل العيون، في مطالعة كتبه. إذا كان لكلّ أمّة أن تزدهي بكتّابها وشعرائها، وأن تباهيَ بباقرتها وفلاسفتها ومفكّريها، فقد حقّنا نحن أبناء الأُمّة العربيّة أن ميخائيل نعيمه في رأس مفاخرنا الروحيّة والأدبيّة في هذا العصر.
إن ميخائيل نعيمه مدرسة إنسانيّة فريدة ومذهب مضيء من أنبل مذاهب الفكر الإنسانيّ العربي والعالميّ.
يصف المؤلّف كتابه «المراحل» هذا بأنه «سياحات في ظواهر الحياة وبواطنها»؛ وركزت على أن تطالعه للمرة الأولى، بعنوان «ثلاثة وجوه»، لتعرف إلى أي شخص يريد أن يتوجه إلى مربعه، وفكر صاف، وبيان مشرق لا تصنع فيه ولا تتكلم، بل هو الصدق بعينه، يدرك الوجدان الذي ينبض فيه وجدان الإنسان الصادق والفنان. الخلاق. مجموعة مقالات وقصص قصيرة، يتناول فيها النعيمي بأسلوبه المميز في الكتابة وروحه التأملية المضيئة، قضايا الإنسان الوجودية والاجتماعية في علاقته مع نفسه والحياة، في سياق من العقل المضيء والتأمل العميق، لغة متميزة وأسلوب فريد ومثير للاهتمام، ولهذا السبب تم تصنيفه كقائد فكري عالمي ومؤثر.
